Relating most to Albert Hicks IV, I am very much interested in being a part of a small operation. I enjoy the close-knit ability to be able to learn from and observe the designers around me. Though I do enjoy print design and want to pursue that in my future as a designer, I am also very interested in UX design, in regards to both print and digital. Creating a better world for the people around me is very important to me.
The notion of working at Facebook, and having what you do affect billions of people, in fascinating to me in how they have “to be quick and understand how the people we are designing for use the product.” I think that’s important for me to think about when expressing my interest in the user experience. It’s not always going to be about what I want to design, but rather was I can design that can best help the people that it is being designed for. Paula Scher explains that “the job of the designer is to make things understandable, usable, accessible, enjoyable… important to a public, that involves the public.”
