Zoe Bortz, the Junior graphic designer at the New York City Ballet, shared in pages 57-64 in The AIGA Guide to Careers in Graphic Design that something she took with her from school was how to have a good work ethic. Having a good work ethic is something that I knew I needed to work on coming out of high school and I find that I have grown so much in that realm of my work.
She also explained that "if you want something to be good, you have to push yourself, even if its painful." This is something that I relate to just in how I've grown as a designer between my sophomore and junior years as a designer. I still have continual growing to do, but I find myself becoming more comfortable with the idea of taking risks in my work and my process in order to expand my realm of design.
